The Oscars are just around the corner and we are looking for that moment that will be talked about for years to come. Whether it's Marlon Brando refusing the statue for winning as Don Corleone, or Jack Palance using the Oscar stage to push ups one handed, the moments range from the political to the goofy.

Through time, celebrities have had some pretty memorable Oscars and these are some of the best ones of the past.

#12 Sean Penn's Fail Joke

In the 2015 Oscars, Sean Penn attempted to make a joke while he was announcing the winner of Best Picture, Birdman. He was quoted saying, "Who gave this son of a bitch his green card?" before he introduced Alejandro Inarritu as the winner. The joke did not sit well with the audience and he was called out for being a racist.

Ellen Degeneres hosted the 2014 Oscars and decided that she would like to break the record for the most and highest re-tweeted photograph. In order to do so, she clicked a star-filled picture with the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, and Bradley Cooper. 

#10 Adrian Brody's surprise-kiss

Adrian Brody was all set to receive the best actor Oscar in the year 2003 for the movie The Pianist. When his name was announced, he went up to the stage to receive the prestigious award from none other than the beautiful Halle Berry. In a sudden change of events, Brody grabbed the actress, dipped her, and planted a long and inappropriate kiss on her shocked but still amazingly beautiful face. 

#9 John Travolta's mispronunciation

During the 2014 Oscars, John Travolta messed up Idina Menzel's name and it seemed as though he had made up a whole new name for her which sounded nothing like her original name. While introducing Menzel, who was ready to perform the song 'Let it go' from the movie Frozen, he called her Adele Dazeem and people never let him forget it. 

#8 Halle Berry's inspiring Oscar speech

In the 2002 Oscar ceremony, Halle Berry became the first ever African-American to win the Best Actress Oscar. She referred to her award acceptance moment as a breakthrough for "every nameless, faceless woman of color that now has a chance."

#7 Forgetful Julia Roberts

During the 2001 Oscars, Julia Roberts was awarded the Oscar for the Best Actress Award for the movie, Erin Brockovich. While giving her speech, she crossed way over the assigned time limit and went as far as asking the Academy to turn off the clock. She forgot to mention the real-life Brockovich and later apologized. 

#6 Marlon Brando refuses award

In the year 1973 Brando won the award for Best Actor for his role in the movie The Godfather. However, when it came to accepting the award, Brando sent Sacheen Littlefeather to refuse the statue and reveal that Brando could not and would not accept the award due to the treatment of Native Americans in the film industry. 

#5 Jack Palance and his push-ups

During the 1992 Oscars, Palance won the Supporting Actor Award for the movie City Slickers. In his acceptance speech, he spoke about how producers feel that they take risks when it comes to older actors. To prove a point, Jack Palance dropped down to the floor and did some push-ups.  

#4 Wild child Roberto Benigni

Roberto Benigni won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in the year 1999 titled 'Life is Beautiful'.

On accepting the Oscar, his wild side was triggered and the next thing you see is Roberto going wild, climbing on chairs, jumping around, and then finally hopping off the stage. That is one way to accept an Oscar.  

#3 Gwyneth Paltrow's long speech

Gwyneth Paltrow did not hold back from giving a long and elaborate speech upon accepting the award for her role in the movie, Shakespeare in Love. Throughout the entire, three-minute long speech, Paltrow was seen and heard crying and hiccuping simultaneously. Talk about a flood of emotions! 

#2 Melissa Leo's foul mouth

While accepting her Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "The Fighter, in the year 2011, everyone could tell that Melissa Leo was just super nervous. Leo could not stop herself from swearing and cussing throughout her entire speech earning her the title of being a foul mouth.

During the 2013 Oscars, while walking up to receive the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in the movie, Silver Linings Playbook, she tripped and fell on the stairs to the stage. She did receive a standing ovation from the audience and said, "You guys are just standing because you feel bad that I fell."
