EVERTON, MISSOURI: Four men and a woman have been arrested and charged after a woman reported that they kidnapped and drugged her, and then raped her for two days.

Lawrence County Prosecuting Attorney Don Trotter announced that police had arrested Zachary Wade, James Maggard Jr., David Browning (Arnold) and Donnie Willis, all of Everton, and Wanda Maggard, also of Everton, in connection to the brutal crime.

The gruesome incident came to light after the 20-year-old victim detailed her ordeal to Lawrence County Detective Lieutenant Chris Berry, who investigated the allegations and then filed a statement of probable cause for the group's arrest.

The victim said it began when she left her home on August 20 at around 9:30 pm with Wade, who is her cousin. She said they stopped at a convenience store for a soft drink, and that when she drank the Dr. Pepper Wade got her, she felt like she was under the influence of something, and could no longer put her thoughts together.

She said she lost consciousness and only became aware after she reached a residence where Arnold and Maggard were also present. She claimed all three men were injecting themselves with drugs, and that Arnold and Wade held her down as Maggard forcibly injected her too.

The victim said Arnold raped her after she bit him when he tried to force her into a sex act. After that, she was left alone in a bedroom, at which point her cousin came in and started kissing her. She said she started crying and was then given a second injection.

Maggard then allegedly raped and sodomized her multiple times. After that, Wade gave her a third injection and committed the same sexual acts again. She revealed that, at times, she was restrained with a belt around her ankle.

She said she was finally able to redress herself after the third injection and demanded she be taken home, but was then given a fourth injection that left her feeling as if she was "dying."

Wade then took her in his car and picked up his mother, Wanda, after which they drove to Springfield. She said she tried to catch the attention of a law enforcement official at one supermarket but failed.

Her ordeal finally ended when she was taken to Arnold's home in Everton, but not before Willis gave her a fifth injection and also raped her.

Wade, Maggard Jr., Arnold, and Willis have all been charged with felony first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, and kidnapping in connection to the crime. Felony charges of kidnapping and conspiracy to commit rape have been similarly filed against Wanda Maggard.

All five have a considerable rap-sheet and have a history of felony crimes.

Arnold's criminal history is the most voluminous and dates back close to three decades, most of which are concentrated in Lawrence County.

He was convicted of unlawful use of a weapon charge in Ozark County in 1992, an involuntary manslaughter charge in Lawrence County in 2000, a stealing charge in Lawrence County in 2000, a distribution and manufacturing charge in Greene County in 2001, a possession of a controlled substance charge in Lawrence County in 2014, a driving while intoxicated-persistent offender charge in Greene County in 2015, and an unlawful possession of a weapon charge again in Lawrence County this year.

Wade was convicted of an undated charge of possession of a controlled substance in Greene County, and tampering with a motor vehicle charge in the same county in 2012.

Maggard Jr. has been convicted of a second-degree assault charge in Dade County in 2004, manufacture/distribution of a controlled substance charge in Lawrence County in 2015, operation of a motor vehicle charge in Lawrence County in 2015, and a child abuse charge in Rush County, Kansas, in 2016.

Willis has been convicted of a stealing charge and second-degree arson charge in Miller County in 1999, a second-degree burglary charge in Polk County in 2005, a forgery charge in Barry County in 2010, and a distribute/manufacture of a controlled substance charge in Polk County in 2011.

Wanda Maggard was convicted of a forgery charge in Polk County in 2004.
