The possible reasons behind Usher and his wife Grace's divorce

The couple had been living separately for quite some time now, before announcing their plans to separate

It's the end of the road for Usher and Grace Miguel. The couple recently announced their divorce after just two years of marriage. Us Weekly reported that the famous duo has already been living separately for some time, and are now moving towards a formal divorce.

“After much thought and consideration we have mutually decided to separate as a couple,” Usher and Miguel said in a joint statement on Tuesday.

“We remain deeply connected, loving friends who will continue supporting each other through the next phases of our lives. The enormous amount of love and respect that we have for each other will only increase as we move forward.”

While most of their fans and followers are shocked at the outcome, speculations of them going their separate ways have been circulating for a while now. And it all started with Usher putting his Los Angeles house for sale.

According to TMZ, two weeks before this announcement, Usher had put their L.A. house on the market. The real estate property is being listed by Anna Marie Simpliciano of Hilton & Hyland. At a going rate of $4.2 million, the singer’s pad is a 4,261 square foot Spanish home with 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, situated right behind the famous Chateau Marmont on the Sunset Strip.

And what's more surprising is that this is not the only house the couple has put up on the market. According to reports, the couple also has a home in Georgia that they're trying to get rid of. The said property contains 7 bedrooms & 10 bathrooms while being listed for a reduced price of $1.699 million dollars.

But the couple's problems did not end at the house. According to a source at Hollywood Life, Usher's herpes scandal was the nail in the coffin for his marriage.

“Usher and Grace have been living separate lives for a long time. He works a lot and travels a ton too so they had been struggling with intimacy issues for years. But the herpes lawsuit was the nail in the coffin. The suit drove them further apart and created a divide between them that was impossible to fix."

"After the suit, all trust and intimacy was gone making it impossible to recover, they could not go on as a married couple. Despite all the love she will always have for him, Grace was getting sick of the daily questions from friends and family about Usher‘s shortcomings,” a source close to 'Yeah' singer told Hollywood Life.

For those who don't know, old court documents had surfaced in July 2017 that claimed Usher allegedly infected a woman with herpes back in 2012 and paid her a $1.1 million settlement.

Later, three more people claimed they had unprotected sex with him after that date and were not made aware that he allegedly had the STD. This reflected badly on the singer since he has been with Grace for almost 10 years and the allegations would have meant he cheated on her.

“There were major trust issues between the two and there were lots of times that Grace expected he has a wandering eye. She couldn’t ever get over her thoughts of him being with other people and that drained both of them and more issues then arose till they decided to break up. Trust issues were at the forefront all along,” a second source told the publication later.

However, Grace stood by her man throughout the scandal. “People are people, living their lives,” she told TMZ in November when asked to address her husband’s accusers.

Sources also told the site that Grace was unbothered by the allegations and wasn’t “giving the lawsuit[s] any weight.”

While the singer’s manager did not speak openly following his lawsuit, it was alleged by Laura Helm that Usher cheated on Grace with her in April 2017, and infected her with the incurable STD. Meanwhile, people on social media have conflicting opinions on their divorce.
