Ryan Seacrest and E! reportedly want the Kardashians to come forward and defend him after sexual assault allegations against him surfaced. A source close to the producer told Radar Online that the channel and Seacrest himself are relying on the family's popularity to gain him some support in these troubling times.
"This family has enormous power and influence," the source said. "Ryan and E! are asking the Kardashians to defend him." Over years of woking together closely on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the family and Seacrest have forged a close bond. Now, the channel hopes that the bond can be leveraged to Seacrest's advantage wit the huge fan following the family members have.
“This family has enormous power and influence and Kim and the gang publically supporting Ryan would be very helpful,” the insider added. Even though a source close to E! has denied these claims, it is reported that Seacresy is paying close attention to the people who are sticking by him through his tough time.
He is reportedly "listening and watching and will remember which friends rush to defend him and those that choose to remain silent".
These allegations came to light after Seacrest's former stylist, Suzy Hardy came forward alleging that he had sexually harassed her. She stated that Seacrest subjected her to consistent unwanted sexual aggression in the six years (2006-2013) that she worked for him. However, Seacrest has denied these allegations.
Since then, Seacrest's co-host of the show 'Live!', Kelly Ripa and Jimmel Kimmel have come forward supporting the TV star. Ripa offered her support by suggesting what a wonderful guy Seacrest was.
“I just want you to know that you are a privilege to work with, and I adore you," she said on Thursday's [March 1] edition of the show. "And I am speaking on behalf of all us here. I know what an easy, professional, great person you are and I feel very, very lucky to work with you each and every day. We all do," she concluded.
Meanwhile, Kimmel was asked if he would allow Seacrest to interview him during the Oscars, to which he said, “Of course I will." He further added that everyone deserves a shot at an explanation. "Listen, you know, we should at the very least afford people the opportunity for truth, what the facts of the story are before hanging them out to dry," he said. However, Ryan has denied these allegations.
