Everyone thought former Bachelor star Ben Higgins and his chosen one, Lauren Bushnell, would get married. Unfortunately, their relationship came to an unceremonious end last year. The reality TV stars, who appeared on Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After? couldn't make it work due to their differences.
Sources close to them said Lauren felt like she gave up a lot for Ben and told many of her friends that her relationship wasn't working even though they put on a brave face in front of their fans.
On May 15, 2017, they released a statement saying, "It is with heavy hearts that we announce our decision to go our separate ways. We feel fortunate for the time we had together, and will remain friends with much love and respect for one another. We wish nothing but the best for each other, and ask for your support and understanding at this time."
Since then, Lauren has gone on to find love again, and this time it was on Tinder. She posted a picture of herself with her new boyfriend Devin Antin, a real estate investor from Los Angeles, according to Elite Daily.
While the former Bachelor contestant seems really happy in her new relationship, her ex-fiancé Ben is still struggling to find love.
The 29-year-old took part in Bachelor Winter Games but exited the show after he realized that he's still hurting from his previous relationship. Ben told castmate Ashley Iaconetti and Chris Harrison that he wants a marriage and kids but isn't ready to invest in a relationship just yet.
Ben said on the latest episode of the show, "It's like, when you get engaged, I truly was so excited about the idea that like, I'm gonna spend the rest of my life with this person but I think I don't want to be hurt again. Like, I desire a relationship and I dream of kids and I dream of family and I dream of being a good dad and a good husband, but I also have to get to a place where I'm excited about dating, and I'm not."
He added, "To be honest, I'm still emotionally dealing with the loss of that relationship. At some point, I have to ask the question what exactly am I doing here? So I'm confused."
Bachelor fans certainly rooted for Ben the whole time but the native from Indiana decided to walk away from the reality show. He also added that being on the TV show brought up a lot of "weird memories" for him.
His emotional speech left everyone in tears but Ben bid his goodbye with the kindest words for everyone. Ben said that he was glad to have met everyone at the Winter Games and "really happy" that he did this.
