Charlize Theron recently appeared on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' and in the show, the actress confessed that she and her mom, Gerda Jacoba take marijuana in order to help them with their sleeping problems. However, luckily for the actress, she does not have to go too far in order to look for it as her mom happens to be her supplier.
“I’m always willing to try anything. You got one life to live, why not?” Charlize told during her appearance on the show. “I have really bad sleep [patterns] and so does my mom. We do take sleep medication and I was saying to her, ‘Maybe we should try a sleeping strain, something that could help us with sleep.’ ”
Even though Charlize happened to be the one who suggested the herbal alternative, she did not expect that her mom would be her go-to person in this case. “I really thought I would be the responsible one to have to go and get that,” she admitted.
She then recalled the time when her mom surprised her with it. “Last week she showed up at my house, literally drove in her little tennis outfit and brought me a little container and just left it on my kitchen table," she recalled.
In fact, her mother had few tips of her own to give to her daughter. “She was like, ‘So I got some blueberry covered chocolate ones but if you want it faster acting you should go for the mints those you suck and it works faster,'" the actress recalled.
She added that she assumed her mother got hold of it through her friends. "I assumed because she was in a tennis outfit she had scored with one young tennis friend. Because she plays tennis with these really cool young girls.” However, it wasn't until the premiere of her upcoming movie 'Gringo' that she realized how her mom actually got it.
“She said, ‘I went to the store by myself,’" noting that marijuana is now legal in California. “I have this image of her in the store. She’s just not this kind of person and buying marijuana she had a full experience.” She added that marijuana helps her a lot with her sleep problems. “It totally works, it’s amazing,” she said of marijuana, adding of her mom as her “dealer”: “You can’t have her, she’s all mine.”
