Don McLean is getting a fresh slice of 'American Pie'.
The 72-year-old singer was recently spotted in England stepping out with 24-year-old Paris Dylan. Paris is an aspiring model, social media star, as well as a former guest on the television show 'Catfish'.
Don is currently touring Britain, promoting his upcoming spring tour in UK and Ireland, and his sweetheart is tagging along for the ride, making press rounds with him. Paris shared pictures of the two enjoying their trip abroad, including photos from TV and radio studios in Manchester.
Paris is a model that's been featured on Playboy and MAXIM. But the model first gained widespread notoriety on an episode of MTV's 'Catfish'.
Paris starred in 'Catfish' back in 2011. Paris, who was 17 at the time, began an online relationship with 33-year-old NBA player Chris Andersen. The two would exchange messages and even nude pictures.
But the irony of the whole situation was that they were BOTH being catfished by a Canadian woman, Shelly Chartier. She orchestrated the entire thing with the hopes of extorting money from the pro basketball player. Shelly was later arrested for her crimes.
Paris has put all of that behind her and has moved on. The young model says on her website that she's "really into the '60s and '70s music" and is often spotted backstage at many concerts and conventions with superstars of that era. It was probably at one of these conventions the unlikely couple crossed paths in.
Paris did make her relationship with Don 'Instagram Official', but a press tour is a big deal. Especially since Paris is the first woman linked to Don McLean, following the singer's divorce from his first wife of 29 years in 2016.
Don was arrested in January of that year, following complaints of domestic violence against his then-wife, Patrisha Shnier.
The 72-year old singer pleaded guilty to the charges.
Don's Lawyer had then stated: “Don has been adamant since day one that he did not do what his now ex-wife said he did. But in the end, he decided it was better to just resolve the case now and be done with it by entering pleas with zero jail, zero probation, and only fines.”
The charges were dismissed in July 2017.
