Meghan Markle has been in the center of attention since the time the actress announced her engagement to Prince Harry. However, one thing that people have been keen to notice is Meghan's fashion choice during various royal visits. On January 18, Prince Harry and Meghan visited Cardiff Castle, Wales and yet again the Suits actress impressed everyone with her sense of style. However, this time, there was more to it than met the eye.
While people were busy admiring the royal couple, Meghan was making a point through the subtle hints that were hidden behind every piece of clothing and jewelry that she had picked to wear on that day. According to Daily Mail, this time, Meghan decided to dress down a bit and rely on small ethical clothing brands. While wearing almost entirely British clothing brand products, Meghan looked flawless and radiant while interacting with the fans.
To begin with, Meghan wrapped herself in a £1,350 tie detail coat by Stella McCartney. While some might have noticed how elegant the coat made her looks, little do people know that the brand is known to stand against using fur or leathers. This fits well in the profile of Meghan, who we all know is an animal lover. In order to pair up her overcoat, Meghan chose a pair of black skinny jeans from Welsh brand Hiut Denim. Put together, the outfit gave a perfect diplomatic look.
Another thing that Meghan is known for is her fondness for elegant yet stylish bags. Even during her visit to Wales, Meghan carried her love for bags along with her. She was seen carrying a £295 Mini Venice handbag by DeMellier London, a brand founded by Mireia Llusia-Lindh.
The goal of the company is to ensure that they are "functional and attainable, as well as socially conscious". The brand is also known to fund their initiative, "A Bag, A Life" which aims to help the children across the world who do not have access to medical care. For every bag one purchases, DeMellier funds lifesaving vaccines and treatments aimed to save the life of a child in need.
Meghan also chose to wear a pair of mismatched earrings. She sure does know how to keep it simple and classy at the same time. On her left ear, Meghan was seen wearing a £415 arrow-shaped stud by Zofia Day. The brand holds a very strong message which is directed towards all the women. They believe in "giving back to the community by empowering women to follow their own passion and journey to self-love".
Whereas, on the right ear, Meghan was seen wearing a Gabriela Artigas triple star climber. It is believed that these earrings are made with a "conscious and respectful outlook toward the environment". While it is safe to say that Meghan is setting her own fashion trend as a soon-to-be royal family member, it is good to see how she is not modeling her personality to fit the royal profile.
Celebrity stylist and fashion designer Lucas Armitage told Daily Mail that her decision of not changing her style completely is a statement in itself. By setting her own trend, she is making an announcement that she is not going to be someone who plays by the rules laid by others. "Meghan isn’t someone who plays by the rules with any aspects of her life, especially when it comes to style," he explained.
"She isn’t letting her upcoming nuptials have an impact on her style choices and she is staying true to her signature look instead of adopting the typical royal makeover. This is a clear message it’s her way and she isn’t changing, which I think is a bold move," he further added. Taking a look at the casual chic look that Meghan has been opting for during her royal visits, we wonder if we will get to see Kate also in a different look sometime soon.
