'Love me or hate me but you just can't ignore me' is possibly the aptest description for the Republican President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.
Brash business billionaire, television personality, and author, there are a lot of things Trump is known for but here are a few that you probably weren't aware of!
Some of them are just plain amusing!
1. Trump went to military school
The President has always been known for his boisterous, aggressive self. At the age of 13, his parents sent him to the New York Military Academy hoping that a little discipline would set the rough fellow right. However, over there Trump earned himself the title of a loudmouth bully.
2. Trump gave his music teacher a black eye
The guy's never known to be shy. He most certainly did not stop to think twice before punching his music teacher in the face. In his 1987 book, The Art of the Deal, Trump wrote: "In the second grade I actually gave a teacher a black eye — I punched my music teacher because I didn't think he knew anything about music and I almost got expelled."
3. Trump's favorite book is the Bible
Yes, you heard that right. When it comes to books, Trump believes nothing beats the Bible. Not even his second favorite book, The Art of the Deal, which he authored himself. Though the Bible is his favorite book, the Republican President couldn't name his favorite verse and we wonder why!
4. Trump won an award for the worst acting ever
Donald Trump won a Razzie award for the 'worst supporting actor' in the 1989 film Ghosts Can't Do It. He's made numerous other appearances and cameos in films.
5. Trump's hair is real! His wife gives him his haircuts
'Abandoned nest,' 'ginger forest,' 'burnt Cheetos,' are just some of the things people say while referring to his hair. Trump once tweeted: “As everybody knows, but the haters and losers refuse to acknowledge, I do not wear a ‘wig.’ My hair may not be perfect, but it’s mine.”
His hair is, in fact, real. He states the reason it looks so clean is that he doesn't expose himself to outside environment. He also told Playboy he gets his haircuts from his wife, Melania. "She doesn’t fool with the hair. She’s not trying to reinvent the wheel."
6. Trump sued an author for $5 million because he called Trump a millionaire instead of a billionaire
In 2009, Trump filed a lawsuit against the author of the book TrumpNation: The Art of Being Donald, Timothy O’Brien, for $5 million. The reason? The author cited his net worth in millions and not billions.
7. Trump previously owned a football team
Trump bought a UFSL football team for $9 million in 1983, and the team even went on to become the best in the UFSL. Although after a couple of years, it ceased to exist.
8. At 27, Trump owned 14,000 apartments
After having supposedly taken a $1 million loan from his father to start his ventures, the business tycoon owned a total of 14,000 apartments in Queens, Staten Island, and Brooklyn. And he was just 27!
9. Trump is a social media fanatic
Trump absolutely loves social media. He is known to be very active online as well, starting his day with a tweet! He reportedly sends about 372 tweets each month. He's also got a huge following on Facebook, Instagram, and Vine.
10. Trump lacks no self-confidence
During college, when many people were unsure of who they are and where they're going, Trump stood out as one too bold, brash, and outspoken. He was quite the ladies man on campus as well. He is at the very least, self-confident. He was once quoted: “All of the women on The Apprentice (his television show) flirted with me, consciously or unconsciously. That’s to be expected.”
11. Donald Trump is an action figure
If you want to fire employees, you may fancy purchasing the Donald Trump action figure that shouts 'You're fired!' Hero Builders came out with this doll and what's better? You can get with or without the swirly hair! These were also used to create a mockery of him in Ted Cruz's political ad.
12. Trump's even got his very own board game!
Trump: The Game was launched by him in 1989. Not surprisingly enough, the game is all about making money in real estate with players who can flash the all-mighty Trump card — "You're Fired" at each other to end all negotiations.
13. Trump was infatuated with Princess Diana
The Trumpster wasted no time in pursuing his love interest, sending expensive flowers to Princess Diana following her break up with Prince Charles. However, that definitely did not work out in his favor because apparently, Diana said he gave her the creeps!
14. Donald Trump doesn't touch alcohol
Or so he claims!
15. Psychiatrists disagree about whether Trump has a personality disorder
Allen Frances, a psychiatrist wrote to The New York Times that Trump “may be a world-class narcissist, but this doesn’t make him mentally ill because he does not suffer from the distress and impairment required to diagnose a mental disorder.”
