Cruella is a household name we all grew up with, especially if you've watched '101 Dalmations'. And now the Disney fashion icon-turned-villain is back with her own live-action remake. The film explores Cruella's back story as an orphan Estella, whose dreams of making it big in the world of fashion go awry, leading her to embrace her wicked side instead.

The fabulous Emma Stone will play Cruella de Vil in the film which is set against the backdrop of seventies London. What is better than one Emma? Well, two of course! In this case, the iconic Emma Thompson.

Cast

Emma Stone

Oscar winner and 'La La Land' actress Emma Stone will be playing the role of Cruella de Vil. Emma Stone's illustrious career hardly needs any introduction. While she started out her career in several romantic comedies, Stone went on to establish herself as a serious acting force in films like 'The Help' and 'Birdman'.

Stone's rise to success took on a whole new momentum, with her role in 'La La Land' garnering her the Academy award for Best Actor. Stone was also nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Supporting Actress Category for the 2019 film 'The Favourite'.

Emma Thompson

Dame Emma Thompson is one of the most acclaimed actors of her generation and has received two Academy Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, two British Academy Film Awards, a British Academy Television Award and two Golden Globe Awards. In 1993, she had dual Academy Award nominations for her roles in 'The Remains of the Day' and 'In the Name of the Father', becoming the eighth performer in history to be nominated for two acting Oscars in the same year. Thompson scripted and starred in 'Sense and Sensibility' (1995), which earned her numerous awards, including an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay — which makes her the only person to receive Academy Awards for acting and writing.

Thompson's other notable roles include her performances in the Harry Potter franchise, her portrayal of author PL Travers in 'Saving Mr Banks', 'Love Actually' and 'Nanny McPhee' amongst others.  In 'Cruella', Thompson plays the terrifying fashion legend Baroness von Hellman, whose relationship with Estella the orphan, brings about the rise of Cruella.

Director

Trailer

Bad and mad have never looked quite as fashionable and quite as cool as Emma Stone portrays in the trailer of 'Cruella'. Fair warning, we suspect that you will come away from this film feeling more sorry for rather than scared of Cruella.
