'Cobra Kai' Season 3 preview: Jacob Bertrand's Hawk promises a lot more action for his character's evolving story arc

Bertrand who plays Hawk, the secondary antagonist in the series, also talked about how the cast and the audience felt about Xolo Maridueña's Miguel who was left in a critical state in season 2's finale

Contains spoilers for 'Cobra Kai' season 2

It seems like members of the Cobra Kai dojo stick by one another even in trying times. The second season did not end well for Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña), one of the key characters, but his teammates are still rooting for him to bounce back stronger in the upcoming season.

Ask Jacob Bertrand, who plays Eli Moskowitz aka Hawk in the series. "A lot of people feel sad about what's happened in the last episode, we all feel for Miguel," he told MEA WorldWide (MEAWW). Miguel was left in a critical state in the hospital following a fight with Robby (Tanner Buchanan), while Sam (Mary Mouser) and Tory (Peyton List) have their own showdown that turns into a school-wide fracas.

Hawk also gets his share of action through the course of the season. Hawk is seen as the secondary antagonist in the last few episodes of season 1 and throughout season 2.

While the first season showed him as a shy personality, season 2 sees Hawk grow to become a bully and come across as an intimidating character. So much so, that he turns against his best friend Demetri (Gianni Decenzo) after the latter writes a bad review about the dojo on the internet. By the end of the series, it is also clear that Hawk has sided with Kreese (Martin Kove) who took over the Cobra Kai dojo from Johnny (William Zabka).

With the third season set to release in 2020, it is interesting to see how Hawk as a character evolves. Touted to be the second best after Miguel in the series, it won't be surprising that Hawk goes on to become Kreese's star pupil and be one of the antagonists in the upcoming season. But also given the turn of events after the last episode, and Kreese's brainwashing skills, it remains to be seen if Hawk still looks at Miguel as a friend or maybe someone who thoroughly deserved to be in the stage after listening to Johnny's ideology about mercy against an opponent during the fight.
