Congratulations are in order for Jessica Simpson and her husband Eric Johnson as the couple welcomed their third child together, a baby girl named Birdie Mae Johnson on Tuesday, March 19. The singer and actress took to her Instagram profile and announced that their baby girl weighed 10 pounds, 13 ounces. "We are so happy and proud to announce the birth of our perfect daughter, Birdie Mae Johnson. 3.9.19, 10 pounds 13 ounces," the actress captioned her black and white picture on Instagram.
When Simpson was pregnant with Birdie, the singer revealed she had a tough time because of swollen feet and was hospitalized for bronchitis. The singer revealed she was expecting her third baby during a gender reveal celebration in September.
"SURPRISE …” she captioned her picture of her kids standing with two huge polka dotted balloons ready to pop and find out if they were having a brother or a sister. “This little baby girl will make us a family of five,” she added alongside a picture of her kids around smaller pink balloons. “We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life," she added.
The news of Simpson's baby comes around a year after she told Ellen DeGeneres on her show that “nothing’s gonna get in [her] uterus” again. Birdie Mae is the third child for Simpson and husband Johnson. Their new addition to the family will join sister Maxwell Drew, 6, and brother Ace Knute, 5.
Previously in an interview with People, Simpson opened up about how her two kids had a lot of questions. “They want to know every detail — like how milk comes out of Mommy, how the baby will actually get here and if my belly button is a speaker to communicate with the baby,” Simpson said.
