'Ant-Man 3' needs to cut Scott Lang a break because he's been through too much pain already

Seeing him say nobody knows Ant-Man in 'Endgame' was truly heartbreaking and we hope that at least in 'Ant-Man 3', which will probably be the last film in the series, Scott can finally get the happy ending he deserves.

What makes Marvel's heroes so very relatable to audiences is the fact that they're almost always down on their luck. And when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, nobody is a better example of this than Paul Rudd's Scott Lang/Ant-Man.

Right from his very first appearance in 2015's 'Ant-Man', Scott has had a pretty hard life. He's had trouble finding employment, being a father to his daughter, and getting the recognition he deserves. Even his friends and associates like Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Luis (Michael Peña) have had terribly sad lives and even now, they're not exactly on the road to success and fame.

It's kind of ironic when you think about it. In the comics, Spider-Man is the hero who's besieged by bad luck but in the MCU, Spidey (Tom Holland) is actually a very popular figure, despite criticisms from people like J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons).

In fact, Scott's luck is so bad that he almost always ends up with the short end of the stick. After taking Captain America's side during 'Captain America: Civil War', Scott was placed on house arrest and just when things finally started to look up for him at the end of 'Ant-Man and the Wasp', he got lost in the Quantum Realm.

By the time he got back, five years had passed and Scott's daughter Cassie Lang (Emma Fuhrmann), pretty much the most important person in his life, was left to grow up without him. Of all the unfair things that have happened to Scott, this was probably the hardest blow, especially considering all the sacrifices he has made in order to be a part of Cassie's life.

Despite saving the day multiple times and even saving the whole world during 'Avengers: Endgame' with his idea for a time-heist, Scott still hasn't received the recognition he deserves. Seeing him say nobody knows Ant-Man in 'Endgame' was truly heartbreaking and we hope that at least in 'Ant-Man 3',  Scott can finally get the happy ending he deserves.

'Ant-Man 3' will begin filming in January 2021 and should be arriving in theaters sometime in 2022.
