Amie Harwick's brother Chris has blasted Wendy Williams for her comments about his sister's death.

Chris Harwick demanded a public apology from Williams after the talk show host appeared to make light of Amie's death earlier this week. The devastated brother told Fox News on Wednesday that Williams' comments and gestures about the former model's homicide were “extremely distasteful," People reports.

“Domestic violence is something no one should be joking about,” Chris said in a statement. “This is a difficult time for my family and for Wendy Williams to make light of this tragedy is very upsetting to us and extremely distasteful.”

“My sister worked tirelessly for domestic violence victims and women’s rights,” he continued. “Wendy Williams should apologize publicly to my family for her comment.”

Amie Harwick died on Saturday after being allegedly attacked by an ex-boyfriend who threw her off a balcony. She was reportedly the ex-fiancée of actor Drew Carey.

Wendy Williams, 55, referred to the crime on Monday’s episode of 'The Wendy Williams Show'. While doing that, she told her audience, “Come on down!” — the signature phrase used by Carey while hosting 'The Price Is Right'.

What's more? Williams also tilted her head to the floor gesturing as though she was watching someone fall. Despite the audience appearing rather stunned, Williams continued the show nonetheless. Her actions sparked a major backlash on social media, with several demanding for an apology.

That said, Wiliams is yet to publicly address the controversy.

However, this is not the first time Williams has come under fire for her antics. She apologized last month after telling homosexual men to “stop wearing [women’s] skirts and heels.”

Los Angeles Medical Examiner announced on Tuesday, February 18, that Amie -- a well-known sex and family therapist in Hollywood -- had died of blunt force injuries to her head and torso. A spokesperson for the department told People there was “evidence of manual strangulation" which eventually led to her death being ruled a homicide.

Amie's ex Gareth Puresehouse was arrested just hours after the assault on Saturday in Playa Del Rey, and was charged of murder.

According to court records obtained by Page Six, the 41-year-old was released on a $2M bond on February 18 and his arraignment is scheduled for March 10.

Amie had previously been granted two restraining orders against Pursehouse.

The former model's ex Carey spoke out about her death in a statement to People on February 17, describing her as a “positive force in the world” and saying he was “overcome with grief.”
