It wasn't the greatest of receptions on social media for Idaho's Andrew Sheppard's 'Steady Machine' on Week 5 of 'American Song Contest'. The final week of live qualifiers will see the last string of the 56 performers take the stage. While there was quite the cheer by the fans watching the performance live, the ones on social media weren't quite over the moon as they called it a snoozefest.

The contestants for Week 5 after a stellar previous week include — Tenelle (American Samoa), Sweet Taboo (California), Jason J (Guam), HALIE (Missouri), Justin Jesso (Illinois), Sisqo (Maryland), Josh Panda (Vermont) , Khalisol (New Mexico), John Morgan (North Carolina), and Ada LeAnn (Michigan).

"#AmericanSongContest Act 3 - Show 5 Idaho — Andrew Sheppard — “Steady Machine” not a fan of country music and the song and the act was a snoozzer My Score - 4," one of the fans ranked the performance. "Andrew Sheppard showed us that he is a steady machine. The beat was constant and he took us on a vocal journey should us his range! I was actually surprised by how much I liked the song! #AmericanSongContest," a fan remarked.

"Idaho is a sort of song we've had plenty of at this point, not sure it stands out enough #AmericanSongContest," a fan tweeted after Sheppard's performance. "Idaho looking dead inside #AmericanSongContest," another seconded. The mixed responses continued. "This is... fine. His angry performing face doesn't help the song imo. #AmericanSongContest #Idaho," one of the tweets read. "I'm sick and almost forgot to tune in. Made it just in time for Idaho and well... I could've been two minutes later. #AmericanSongContest," a fan said.
