The killing of George Floyd triggered global outrage. His death was followed by a chaotic few weeks, during which people took to the streets and social media to express their support for the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement. Fortunately, the emotions have not faded and the movement has only gotten stronger with time.

'American Ninja Warrior' Season 12 aired a segment during which current and former ninjas showed support for the BLM movement. Although they were cheered on by their colleagues, fans seem to have taken it in a different way.

Viewers of the show have gone online to share that talking about BLM or adding a related segment to a fun show like 'ANW' only takes away from the entertainment. Some even said that they had to change the channel because the TV show was their only escape from the heavy stuff that's usually aired. But now, that luxury too has been taken away from them.

"I love NW and ALL the athletes. There was absolutely NO reason to bring BLM into it. Had enough of it being pushed down our throat," a fan commented on the show's Facebook page, while another added: "If I wanted politics or political movements in my tv viewing I would watch CNN or Fox News... KEEP IT OUT OF THE ENTERTAINMENT!!!" The fan also pointed out that adding BLM to the mix has forced people to opt out of the show because 'ANW' no longer serves as an "escape for them". "Most people like to escape from daily b.s. with tv and sports but you can't even watch that now. Guess I'm gonna have to start binge watching old shows," the user further added.

"Truly sad I really liked the show but sad to say watched it for the last time amazing how you support this marxist group you should have done your homework," a user pointed out. "I feel the same way. So disappointed. I watch TV to get away from everything. Stop politicizing sports," another expressed.
