'American Idol' Season 18: Katy Perry dresses up as a bottle of hand sanitizer, fans say they're not surprised
'American Idol' Season 18 went remote with their first-ever home edition. The Top 20 contestants are set to perform from their homes across the country. Judges, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan will critique the contestants sitting at home, while Ryan Seacrest will host the show from his living room.
This is the first-ever remote edition in the history of 'American Idol' because of the current coronavirus pandemic, which has forced productions to opt for such measures to keep in mind the safety of the contestants, the judges, the audience and the staff. With the Top 20 giving their best tonight, fans have three ways they can vote for their favorite contestant who they wish to see advanced to the Top 10. Fans can either vote on the American Idol app, on their website, AmericanIdol.com, or by texting the contestant's number to 21523. Each fan can cast 10 votes for their favorite contestant.
While fans and viewers had their eyes glued to their screens waiting to see their favorite contestant perform, they didn't expect to see Katy grace their screens with an epic outfit that definitely brought out a few laughs.
Katy is known for her wacky costumes, no one will forget her outfit as a hamburger for the 2019 Met Gala. Now, the 'I've Never Worn White' singer, appeared on 'American Idol' Season 18 looking quite comfortable in a hand sanitizer costume.
Watching Katy give out her critiques wearing that costume and cracking a few jokes about her costume, fans on Twitter say they aren't surprised to see the singer's outfit. "The fact that Katy Perry is dressed as a giant hand sanitizer bottle on American Idol right now is why I love her," a fan shared.
