Unseen footage of the Top 20 contestants on 'American Idol' Season 18 was a perfect way to bring an end to the weekend. The series has put its production on halt because of the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Returning on April 12 night, for Episode 11 'This Is Me' Part 1, 'American Idol' Season 18 aired unseen footage of the Top 20 contestants during their auditions and Hollywood Week. Part 2 of the unseen auditions will air next week when the series returns.

We got to see a slew of unseen performances by contestants who impressed the judges during their auditions and Hollywood Week. One such contestant was Franklin Boone whose Hollywood Week performance of John Meyer’s 'I Don’t Trust Myself (With Loving You)' brought Katy Perry to her feet.

The clip begins with Boone speaking to 'American Idol' Season 17 runner-up Alejandro Aranda. “I feel this unspoken pressure to want to change my personality a little," Boone shared. Aranda replied saying, “Never change. You’re you for a reason.” And that's exactly what Boone did, he didn't change, but he did knock the socks off everyone with his acoustic performance.

Judges, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan were more than impressed with his performance. Post it, Luke shared, "This is his world right here. This theater, that guitar."

Boone without a doubt made it past the Hollywood Week and even made it to the Top 20. Watching the unseen footage of Boone's Hollywood Week performance, fans on twitter affirm he is super talented.

"Franklin really sings from his heart every time he performs. Can’t wait to hear more from him. #AmericanIdol," a fan wrote. Adding to that another fan said, "'It doesn’t matter what he sings.' Agreed! Franklin is SUPER talented! @LukeBryanOnline #AmericanIdol."
