'American Idol' Season 18 to air first ever at home edition, fans excited to see how live shows play out
Worry not folks, 'American Idol' has found a creative way to continue Season 18 amid the lockdown as the search for the next superstar must go on.
Fans on Twitter couldn't be more excited as the series revealed they will proceed into the live shows. Though the series will not go back to its regular studio portion of its live shows, the show will conduct them remotely, back from the comfort of their own homes amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Recently, the series revealed that 'American Idol' Season 18 will return on April 26 (Sunday) for a two-hour show. We will see judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie alongside host Ryan Seacrest and In-house mentor Bobby Bones returning to our screens as the Top 20 contestants perform for America's votes, remotely.
Perry and Richie will be judging the contestants from their homes in California. And as for Luke, he will be judging from his home in Nashville. The contestants will also be performing from their own homes. Bobby will also join them from his home in Nashville while Seacrest will host the show from his home in California.
This creative decision comes after the COVID-19 pandemic put a stop to the usual production of the series' live shows. While this is the first time the show will ever air the competition from their homes, fans on Twitter are excited to see their favorite contestants return.
"I know @americanidol will be very different this season without the live stage show but I'm so happy these talented kids will have a chance to compete for the title. While another shared, "Will miss seeing my @AmericanIdol friends in person, but SO excited we the fans can crown the next #AmericanIdol while we’re #separatetogether !
