'American Idol' Season 18: Meet Olivia Ximines, the 16-year-old whose amazing vocal chops bowled fans over

While we have met a slew of impeccable singers who auditioned, this season seems to be dominated by the younger generation and Olivia is one of them

Soulful singer Olivia Ximines auditioned for 'American Idol' Season 18 and fans are certain that the 16-year-old has some serious potential.

'American Idol' Season 18 premiered earlier last month and with just a few weeks of auditions down, it looks like the contestants are a lot more refined this season. Judges Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and Katy Perry returned to their seats, alongside in-house mentor Bobby Bones and Ryan Seacrest as the host. 

While we have met a slew of impeccable singers who auditioned, this season seems to be dominated by the younger generation. One standout artist amongst them is Olivia Ximines, who sang a powerful rendition of 'Language' by Tori Kelly. She might be a little girl but she sure has a big voice and a bigger range that left even the judges stunned.

Olivia is filled with raw talent, which makes her one of the contestants to watch out for this season. Post her performance, Katy called her "phenomenal". Without any delay, Olivia received three yeses and a golden ticket that will take her to Hollywood Week.



 

Taking to Twitter post her performance, a fan wrote, "Olivia has potential. #AmericanIdol." Adding to that another said, "Watching #AmericanIdol You can just end the season now and declare Olivia the winner."

"Olivia, how are you only 16? You already have the talent & professionalism of someone who has already been performing for more than 16 years. #AmericanIdol," a fan shared. While another wrote, "Olivia has complete control of her voice! Incredible! #AmericanIdol."

While we can't wait to see what the 'American Idol' journey holds for this young contestant, here are a few things you should know about Olivia. 

Hailing from California, Olivia is on the orange vista dance team. In fall, she was also named the junior homecoming princess. Last year in March during the Dimes benefit, Olivia beautifully sang the national anthem. That benefit helped her district raise at least $61,000. Olivia was also selected to sing the national anthem at Riverside Country State of Education Address.

Olivia might be young but she sure does have some pipes. We can't wait to see how far she heads in the competition and if she has what it takes to bag the title this season.
