Spoilers ahead for season 1 episode 5 of 'Almost Family' titled 'Risky AF'

There is a double dose of 'Almost Family' this week and we're here for it. Fox is celebrating Thanksgiving this week with two back-to-back episodes of 'Almost Family' - well at least they're (kind of) making up for pushing the show for three weeks.

In the previous episode 'Risky AF', Edie (Megalyn Echikunwoke) confesses her true deep feelings for Amanda (Victoria Cartagena), which was after she spends time with Amanda's son, played by Jian Harrell. She tells Amanda how before they met, she had a life she could just about manage, but Amanda came along and "rearranged my molecules", she says in a very emotional scene.

At the same time, Edie's husband Tim (Mo McRae) is growing increasingly suspicious of her - she missed his grandmother's 80th birthday celebrations and lied through her teeth, which wasn't all that difficult to see through for Edie sure might be a lawyer but she can't lie to save her life.

While tensions between them continue to mount, Julia (Brittany Snow) finds herself back in the dating scene. But it is one particular person, Donovan (Michael Stahl-David in a guest appearance) who she falls for. However, in the upcoming episode 'Kosher AF', Julia finds herself developing feelings for Donovan, but the topic of children sees both of them at opposite ends.

Amidst rising tensions between Edie and Tim, Amanda suggests that the two take a weekend getaway. But will that be possible now that Tim is questioning Edie?

On the Dr Leon Bechley (Timothy Hutton) case front, the upcoming episode will see Edie catching Amanda off-guard by - according to the official synopsis - "getting a key piece of evidence dismissed". At the moment, the most important witness in the Leon Bechley case is Roxy's (Emily Osment) mother Diane (Victoria Clark), whose testimony is incriminating. Could Edie have this dismissed?

'Kosher AF' will air on Fox on Wednesday at 9 pm ET/PT.
