'Almost Family' Episode 6: Edie's lies about her affair continue to pile up threatening her marriage with Tim
Spoilers ahead for Season 1 Episode 6 of 'Almost Family' titled 'Kosher AF'
This week, 'Almost Family' is celebrating Thanksgiving with its fans with two back-to-back episodes.
In episode 6 of the series, Julia Bechley (Brittany Snow) meets yet another Bechley baby born out of one of her father Dr Leon Bechley's (Timothy Hutton) many experiments. We also get a guest appearance from Tedra Millan. While that ultimately turns into a family celebration towards the end of the episode, there is something else that is noteworthy: Edie (Megalyn Echikunwoke) has now started blatantly lying to Tim (Mo McRae).
In the last week's episode, Edie had refused to accompany Tim to his grandmother's 80th birthday celebration. Upon returning, tensions between them are evident as Tim begins to grow suspicious and questions her about her whereabouts. Edie, caught off-guard, nervously jokes about it, but Tim is visibly upset with her.
In episode 6, he continues to harbor suspicions against Edie telling her that he knows that she is hiding something from him. He tells her that there is nothing that she couldn't tell him, no wrongdoing that he won't forgive her for. Yet, at a time that Edie could come clean, she chooses to look him straight in the eye and lie that there is nothing wrong, she isn't hiding anything.
Tim also grows anxious about her rapport with Amanda (Victoria Cartagena), noting how she went soft on her in the courtroom. He later runs into her and happens to plant a doubt in her mind about Edie that she would do anything to win her case.
This is later proved true in the courtroom when Edie catches Amanda off-guard with a surprising piece of evidence regarding the Bechley case.
Of course, this is going to affect their relationship in some way. They have expressed their love for each other and their interest in pursuing each other. However, Edie is held back by Tim. Regardless of how she feels now, Edie also holds Tim dear and close, and it frightens her to imagine what could happen if the truth came out.
It does, however, look like Edie might not be the one coming clean, and that Tim would be making the discovery of her affair with Amanda himself. That is going to be more painful that one can imagine.
'Almost Family' will return for the next episode 'Thankful AF' on November 28, 2019, at 9 PM ET/PT.
