Who won Miss USA 224? Meet Alma Cooper of Michigan who now sets her sights on Miss Universe
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Alma Cooper won Miss USA 2024. She was representing Michigan and is now all set to represent the United States in the 2024 Miss Universe Pageant. Cooper won the crown after competing with fifty-one women across the US who were convened on stage for a two-hour competition.
Before earning the crown, Cooper competed in the swimwear competition to earn a Top 10 spot and an evening gown portion for a Top 5 spot. The finale of the pageant witnessed dramatic eliminations of the aspiring contenders. Cooper was a runner-up of Miss USA 2023.
Cooper was crowned by Savannah Gankiewicz of Hawaii, who stepped into the role of Miss USA in May after the unexpected resignation of last year's winner. Cooper shared her background during the final round of questions. She said, "As the daughter of a migrant worker, a proud Afro-Latina woman, and an officer in the United States army, I am living the American dream."

Top 5 Miss USA 2024 had a surprising elimination with the viewers witnessing live elimination from the top 20 competitors to the Top 5. The beauty queens competed in multiple rounds of ramp walks including swimwear and evening gown portions.
However, Miss Ohio Macy Hudson bagged the fifth position, Miss Tennessee Christell Foote earned fourth, Miss Oklahoma Danika Christopherson ended up at third and Miss Kentucky Connor Perry became the runner-up and Miss Michigan Alma Cooper bagged the crown.

Who is Miss USA 2024 winner Alma Cooper?
Miss USA 2024 winner Alma Cooper is a master's student with a degree in statistics at Stanford. Cooper also holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from the United States Military Academy at West Point. She is a second lieutenant officer and a Knight-Hennessy Scholar.
Cooper learned hard work and aspiration from her mother, who has been a migrant worker from age 6. Meanwhile, Cooper's father was the first Army officer in the family and she followed in his footsteps at the army school. Cooper was 14 when she competed in Miss Michigan Teen USA. Her mother sewed her dress adding hundreds of beads to a handed-down gown. In addition to walking in pageants, Cooper is an advocate for the nonprofit Feeding America.
