Spoilers for 'All Or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur' Episode 8

2020 has been an unforgettable year. It's a year that had massive highs and equal rock-bottom lows. The negative has far outweighed the good things in the year and the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic has been one of the key factors. Sporting action across the world came to a screeching halt and English football was among the many outdoor sports to take a backseat hoping the pandemic would tide over. While it hasn't, to be quite honest, the world is inching back and attempting to embrace the new normal and so did football.

In many ways, going by the episode, the Spurs actually had some good news while in lockdown. In addition to getting their training done each day, their big stars— Harry Kane and Son Heung-min were back from injury. The return of Steven Bergwijn and Moussa Sissoko from injuries further bolstered the squad as they gear up to take on Manchester United and make their bid to get to the top five of the points table. Their schedule was interrupted by the outbreak and now it was time to get to work.

It isn't old news as the match against Manchester United ended in a draw. With eight games left, the episode promises plenty of action in the finale. However, it wasn't just the coronavirus that was showcased as the docuseries also gives a fleeting look at the impact of the lockdown.

Daniel Levy's concerns were outlined as the owner worries about the impact of the pandemic on the players' physical and mental health. This coupled with the financials forms one of the talking points of the episode.

The workouts and team meetings monitored on Zoom, the lives of players while on lockdown are all documented. The episode extends close to an hour where players are shown adapting to the new guidelines ahead of taking the field again. The BLM movement was also highlighted with players taking a knee and observing a moment's silence before proceeding with the game. The focus quickly moves to the return of the season and the Spurs have nine games to go.

With a tie against United, the onus is on Mourinho to ensure the team ends with a good result and hopefully a better one than they hoped for.

'All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur' is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
