Alicia Vikander looks drop-dead gorgeous at the premiere of her movie 'Tomb Raider'
The actress wore a custom-made Louis Vuitton and she looked like a million bucks!
Alicia Vikander worked hard to play the part of Lara Croft, and her effort showed on the red carpet. At the premiere of 'Tomb Raider', Alicia, 29, wore a custom-made Louis Vuitton gown that perfectly graced her sinewy body. The beautiful metallic-gold gown featured a brocade material and boasted Bardot-frill sleeves. Paired with a deep red lip, Alicia looked like a million bucks walking down the red carpet at her premiere.
The role of Lara Croft is Alicia's biggest one yet. Alicia dedicated a lot of time and effort to perfectly fit the role. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Alicia said that she was going to be training her body hard for the role. "On this job, it was the first time I was expected to do as much muscle and weight training as I've done. I've really felt it very empowering, and I still feel like I have a physique,” she said, “I already wanted her to be a strong, physical girl. This film is about her becoming the action hero we know her to be."
The role also tested her acting ability. Alicia, who won an Oscar for her supporting role in 'The Danish Girl', is known for her emotionally powerful performances. The switch to a franchise like 'Tomb Raider' is surely bound to test her acting skills.
Speaking to Reuters, Alicia shared the complexity of her character. “We show this journey of Lara when she’s not the action hero ... and it’s a way of us still to root for her,” she explained, “You actually get to feel that’s she’s human, and she’s open to be vulnerable.”
'Tomb Raider' is based on the 2013 version of the game. It takes place on the fictional island of Yamatai, close to Japan.
The movie follows Lara's attempt to connect the dots around her father's disappearance. After finding out that her father was more than just a regular archeologist, she's charged with protecting the world from imminent danger.
The movie is out in theaters today.
