How old is Melania Trump? POTUS says she's handling illness better as she's 'slightly younger' than him
As the news landed that President Donald Trump has contracted Covid-19, it unsettled many as the United States is nearing elections in November. However, the POTUS has claimed that he is feeling better in his video message on Twitter on Saturday, October 3. In the video, Trump said that First Lady Melania, who also contracted the virus, is doing even better than him.
Trump in the video message said, “I’m starting to feel good”, as he promised to combat the virus for Covid-19 patients “all over the world”. He mentioned that the treatments he is receiving are “miracles from God” and also informed that the first lady's symptoms were not as severe as his own. “I'm doing well, I want to thank everybody. Our first lady is doing very well. Melania asked me to say something as to the respect she has for our country, the love that she has for our country. And we are both doing well. Melania is really handling it very nicely as you've probably read, she is slightly younger than me just a little tiny bit.”
“And therefore, we know the disease, we know the situation with age versus younger people and Melania is handling it statistically like it's supposed to be handled and that makes me very happy and it makes the country very happy but I'm also doing well and I think we're gonna have a very good result,” the POTUS added.
As Trump remarked on the age angle and Melania’s health, it makes us wonder how old the first lady is. Melania, a former model, is 50. She is 24 years younger to Trump who is 74. As soon as Trump’s comments on Melania’s recovery came to light, it spurred a conversation on the Internet. People mocked Trump for calling Melania just a “little tiny bit” younger to him. Internet users noted the age difference of 24 years between the two and ridiculed the president.
A user quipped, “Did this guy just say Melania Trump is slightly younger than him, just a little bit? You are 24 years older than her.” Some users noted Trump’s expressions, “I love it when Trump mentions Melania being slightly younger than him...with his best poker face! How you doing?” Some users had a laughter riot and wrote “Who knew Melania was only slightly younger than Trump?”

Some bashed the POTUS for "lying". “Do we file this under ‘lies all the time?’ Trump recorded a video from his COVID hospital room to remind the world that Melania is ‘just a little tiny bit’ younger than him.” A user posted photos of Trump's eldest son Donald Trump Jr who is 42 and compared Melania's age to him. He wrote, "Look how close Melania and trumps son are in age." Another joked, "President Trump Releases New Video, Cracks Joke About Age Difference With Melania."

However, some came in support of Trump. "'Melania is doing great as well. As you may have read, she’s a bit younger than me...' One could argue that this is a sense of humor in tact. Indeed, this is President Donald Trump's best addresses ever I heard on TV," wrote one. Another concurred, “Trump and his supporters tend to be happy people with a sense of humor. This was just a playful remark because his lovely wife, Melania, is younger and he was executing a bit of self-deprecating humor. Lighten up!”
