ACM Awards 2020: Morgan Wallen on fire with 'Whiskey Glasses', but fans ask 'what's up with the mullet'

While viewers couldn't stop raving about his highly entertaining performance, a majority of them are deeply involved in discussions revolving around the country singer's mullet

The interesting line-up of performances for the 55th Academy of Country Music Awards included one by Morgan Wallen, the 27-year-old country singer who has been nominated for New Male Artist of the Year. The ‘More Than My Hometown Singer’ took to stage on September 16 to perform his hit song 'Whiskey Glasses', which soon garnered a range of reactions from his fans. 

While some of them couldn't stop raving about his highly entertaining performance, a majority of them are deeply involved in discussions revolving around the country singer's mullet. One of his fans tweeted, "Not gonna lie that double denim and mullet look amazing on you @MorganWallen oh and your performance was great!!" While another added, "You’re right @Redman_Jacobs , not only does @MorganWallen have a better mullet...he sings better too!"



 



 

And some have expressed their interest in bringing back the mullet after watching Wallen carry it during his performance. One tweeted, "Hmmm @MorganWallen got me wanting to bring back my mullet #ACMawards #ACMs " Seconding the previous tweet, another wrote, "@ACMawards HELL YEAH! The mullet is back! #morganwallen is rocking that party in the back! Somewhere, @billyraycyrus is smiling and saying I knew it would."



 



 

The 2020 Academy of Country Music Awards finally came to Nashville, Texas after being pushed for months due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The much-awaited music event of the year which was originally scheduled to take place on April 5  from Las Vegas, Nevada is being broadcast live from three country music venues, The Grand Ole Opry House, The Ryman Auditorium, and The Bluebird Cafe, on September 16 while taking into consideration the social distance protocol. 

With Keith Urban serving as the host, Taylor Swift will be one of the performers to headline the event as she will be gracing the Country Music Awards stage after seven years to perform ‘Betty’ from her latest album ‘Folklore’. The other performers for the star-studded evening include Trisha Yearwood, Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Mickey Guyton, Tim McGraw and Blake Shelton featuring Gwen Stefani. The 2020 ACM was kick started by all the nominees of ‘Entertainer of the Year’ including  Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs and Thomas Rhett.
