'Absolute embarrassment': Joe Biden slammed as 'racist' for insinuating White people are 'stupid'
PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, WASHINGTON DC: President Biden’s awkward tongue slips have become a source of amusement for many, but his most recent one may have been a tad bit much. At an event at the White House for Black History Month, the POTUS addressed the gathering and at one point said, “I may be a white boy, but I’m not stupid.” The attempt at the peculiar self-deprecating joke has left many deeming the President ‘cringeworthy.’
Biden, 80, made the peculiar joke while telling the gathering that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries does not speak to him anymore. The President, after making this awkward remark, went on to add, “…I know where the power is … you think I’m joking. I learned a long time ago about the Divine Nine.” The ‘divine nine’ that he referred to, are a group of African-American sororities. Jeffries “is here in spite of the fact that when he ran the first time I campaigned for him,” Biden further said. He also went on to namedrop Congressional Black Caucus Chairman Steven Horsford. “I campaigned for him too. You know what this means is, they don’t talk to me any more,” Biden said before adding, “I’m only kidding.”

'Sounds pretty racist'
While Biden thought he made a good joke, many on Twitter begged to differ as they took down the President for his weird statement. “So funny……Hahaha. Sounds pretty racists to me,” one user had tweeted. Another had posted, “As my Daddy use to say, I beg to differ!!!” A third user had seemingly taken a shot at the president’s intelligence as they posted, “That’s debatable.” A fourth user had aggressively slammed Biden for his “race-baiting, racist and wrong” remarks and said, "Race-baiting, racist and wrong all in one sentence."

'Might make a good T-shirt slogan'
Another trolled the president and said that "he got the first part right,” insinuating that the part where the president said he wasn’t “stupid” was wrong. “Absolute embarrassment. Can’t be anymore disingenuous,” a user had disappointedly expressed, while another user had a more humorous take on the situation, “Might make a good T-shirt slogan.” Another user was very vocal about their feelings for the incumbent president and his words, saying, “He is disgusting.” One final user brought the claws out and said, “Still waiting for his "I may be a pedophile, but I have standards" speech.”
