'Stumptown' Episode 17: Dex and Benny's story finally comes to light and fans can't wait for Season 2

In what served as a game-changer for 'Stumptown', Episode 17 'The Dex Files' finally revealed to us Benny, whose presence has played an extremely important role in Dex Parios's life.
Dex learns that Benny was foul played by the Department of Defense and his death was always presented as a result of her overruling a command. She is taken aback by the fact that the last time he called her was not to ask her hand in marriage but to expose the secrets of the US military.
Throughout the episode Dex finds herself entangled in contradicting thoughts as the facts and Grey McConnell's (Jake Johnson) opinion of Benny paint him as "the bad guy". However, deep down, she and Ansel Parios (Cole Sibus) both believe Benny was a paragon of virtues.
Commenting on the same, one fan wrote, "#Stumptown OMG !!!! I KNEW BENNY WAS GOOD!!!! I KNEW DEX WASN'T WRONG. BUT NOW SMH WHAT NOW?? love this show for what it is & now for what it takes my mind off of. . . Thanks #DEX."
And some, who saw the good in Benny, are unhappy about the tragedy that befell him. "@StumptownABC #Stumptown Ooh so Benny was murdered. Snap, crackle and pop. I look forward to seeing this mystery unfold!" expressed one fan. "We need more Bennys in this world #Stumptown," added another.
Meanwhile, the majority of the fans are already asking for an update on Season 2 as the current season is just an episode away from bidding farewell.
While one fan tweeted, "Please renew #Stumptown @StumptownABC @ABCStudios Bring us some good news among this craziness that is going on in this world."
"As if that ending wasn’t bad enough, now I find out that there's only 1 more episode left this season. pls renew this show kthxbye," said another dedicated fan.
Meanwhile, one fan felt that the show is sideling Dex by focusing more on other characters when it should be taking deep dives into the PI's life. "Those are both good things. On the other hand, I really don't like how much screen time they're giving Hoffman now. This is supposed to be Dex's show, but it seems like half the episodes lately are devoted to his storylines. I don't care about him at all. #Stumptown," the fan wrote.
'Stumptown' airs on Wednesdays on ABC.
