None could mask their emotions better than Portland's PI Dex Parios (Cobie Smulders). With 15 episodes under its belt, ABC's drama is entering the week with an intense episode, which seems to dwell on Dex's past.

In the previous episode of 'Stumptown', we saw Dex and Grey McConnell (Jake Johnson) take a trip to LA in the pretext of an investigation. During their stay in the Tinseltown, they decide to meet with their respective families to get a closure which had been long due.

While 'At All Costs: The Conrad Costas Chronicles' ended on a rather emotional note, the upcoming episode titled 'All Quiet On the Dextern Front' teases Dex in a far more formidable situation.

Although, the official trailer for Episode 16 only gives a glimpse of Dex and Grey's misadventures in Hollywood, a few stills from the episode hint at some major revelations about Dex’s past, essentially from her time in the military.

One of the stills also showcases a new character, believed to be Ansel's crush, who he has been talking about for a long time. It's only fair that the series introduces a development in Cole Sibus's character considering 'Stumptown' has only an episode or two left until it concludes the current season.

Meanwhile, ‘All Quiet On the Dextern Front’ might give us a better insight into Dex’s daunting memories, thus revealing what exactly went down between her and Benny in Afghanistan.

All along, we have seen Dex blame herself for Benny’s death, bound by guilt which has led to her take multiple plunges in the sinkhole of self-destruction. Also, her confrontation with the past could peel layers of her intriguing persona, helping us understand her character better.

Amid all this, the trailer also teases a possible hook up between Dex and Grey, which is guaranteed to leave viewers divided over their opinion regarding the duo’s on-again-off-again relationship.

'Stumptown' airs on Wednesdays on ABC.
