‘A Winter Getaway’: Meet Nazneen Contractor, Brooks Darnell and rest of the cast of the snowy Hallmark romance
Hallmark’s newest romantic movie, ‘A Winter Getaway’, follows a tourist and a concierge, who go from being strangers to two people fond of each other. However, when the latter learns about the tourist’s true identity, how will it impact their newly-sparked romance? Brooks Darnell
American actor Brooks Darnell will be seen playing the role of Joe in ‘A Winter Getaway’. After being spotted at a local fair at the age of 16, Darnell singed with a talent agency and enrolled himself in the nationally acclaimed IMTA talent showcase, New York City competition. He stood third among over four hundred monologue contestants, which earned him a position in the prestigious Conservatory theater school in San Francisco.
In 2001, he signed a modeling deal with the agency BMG and became their first African-American male client to feature on their roster. Darnell’s film and television credits include ‘Shadowhunters’, ‘Total Recall’, ‘Bones' and ‘The New Edition Story’.
Nazneen Contractor
Nazneen Contractor will be playing the role of Courtney in the movie. She is an acclaimed actress, famous for featuring in shows and movies such as ‘24’, ‘Rules of Engagement’, ‘Lone Star’ and ‘Last Resort’, among others. In 2013, she was seen as the devoted wife and mother in Paramount’s feature film ‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’. Besides her accomplishments in the entertainment world, Contractor is also recognized for her philanthropic work. She is a supporter of Second Harvest, a charity for the homeless and Look Good Feel Better, dedicated to women with cancer.
Ryan Northcott
Canadian actor Ryan Northcott will be seen as a brewery owner in ‘A Winter Getaway’. One of the most notable roles of his acting career is as Stevie Weeks in ‘Mystery, Alaska’. He also gained prominence as Beach Boy Cark Wilson in the Emmy Nominated mini-series ‘The Beach Boys: An American Family’. Northcott’s other television and film credits include ‘Let Him Go’, ‘Marlene’, ‘Jasmine Road’, ‘Mitch Wheeler’ and ‘Tribal’. He is a drummer and a mainstay in the Alberta film community as a performer and filmmaker.
