'A Moment With the Met': Livestream details, performances and all you need to know about Vogue's virtual event on YouTube

Vogue's annual fundraising event 'Met Gala' is bringing to us a series of special performances and a lot more fun this year as well through its upcoming virtual event 'A Moment With the Met'.

Since 'Met Gala 2020' had to be postponed owing to the dire circumstances caused due to the coronavirus lockdown, it has been replaced with 'A Moment with the Met' and here is everything you need to know about it. 

Air Date

'A Moment With the Met' will live stream on Vogue’s official YouTube channel on May 4 at 6 pm ET. 

Format 

Vogue's upcoming event will include an address by its editor-in-chief and Met Gala co-chair Anna Wintour, followed by performances by a few notable music artistes. The event will also take a look at moments from previous Met Galas and release new videos featuring Naomi Campbell , Stella McCartney, Liza Koshy, Cardi B and Liv Tyler. 

Performances

According to Variety, 'A Moment With the Met' is said to include performances by Florance + The Machine and Djing by Virgil Abloh.

Florence + The Machine

Florence + The Machine is an English indie rock band formed in 2007. It consists of vocalist Florence Welch, keyboardist Isabell Summers, guitarist Rob Ackroyd, and harpist Tom Monger. The band has also collaborated with other musicians. The band is a recipient of Brit Awards ‘Critics Choice’ awards and has been six-times Grammy nominee under categories including Best New Artist, Best Vocal Album among others. 

Virgil Abloh

Virgil Abloh is an American fashion designer who has been serving as the artistic director of Louis Vuitton since March 2018. He is also the chief executive officer of Off-White, a Milan-based fashion house that he founded in 2013. He also made to Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2018.

Talking about the upcoming event, Wintour told in a statement, "It would be impossible to recreate the gala on Monday evening, though I have loved hearing how so many are marking the occasion in their own ways. So instead, I asked a few friends to join me for a simple moment — one that I hope will bring us all a bit of joy."
