When will 'A Million Little Things' Season 3 return? Season 2 didn't quite end well for the ABC show's gang

The last time that 'A Million Little Things' aired on ABC, it ended its Season 2 on an ambiguous note - Eddie Saville (David Giuntoli) was hit by a car just as he is leaving a bar. It was the day that he and his wife Katherine Saville (Grace Park) were going to renew their vows.

Where we left off

Eddie was haunted by his past and instead went to a bar to drink. A recovering alcoholic, had Eddie gone ahead with it, his actions would have ruined his life with Katherine and son Theo (Tristan Byon) forever. After he regained a sense of himself, he walks out of the bar with Katherine on the line. And just then, a car hits him and he falls down unconscious. This did not come as good news for fans of the couple who were rooting for the two to reconcile this season.

The season 2 finale didn't exactly end well for the rest of the gang either. Rome (Romany Malco) and Regina Howard (Christina Moses) could not successfully adopt the child they were in the process of because Eve (Ebboney Wilson) decided to keep the baby.

Gary Mendez (James Roday Rodriguez) and Maggie Bloom's (Allison Miller) romance was also left incomplete as Maggie decides to leave for England for a year for her year-long studying program. Is their relationship over for good?

These were some of the questions at the end of season 2 of the ABC series. When will audiences find out what happens next?

What we'd like to see

The show's return is still a long time away, in a recent interview that creator DJ Nash basically says that tensions are going to run high. He teased that regardless of his condition following that accident, Giuntoli will very much be a part of the series. On the other hand, he pointed out how "Gary's love life is as complicated as ever" and asked fans of the couple to remain patient.

But it is Rome and Regina's marriage that might be in (most) dangerous waters. "The loss of their baby, in some ways, is harder than if the child passed away. At least then, people would understand the need to mourn," he said in the interview. "With Rome’s struggle with depression and with Regina being a survivor of child sexual assault, both of these challenges brought them closer together. This latest challenge threatens to tear them apart." Will they find a way to each other?

When is it returning

So one thing is official: ABC's popular drama 'A Million Little Things' is set to return to the primetime slot on November 19, 2020, at 10:01 pm.
