With the protests and riots against the shocking murder of George Floyd soaring by the day, A&E decided to pull this weekend’s episodes of the hit docuseries 'Live PD'. The nationwide unrest against police brutality after Floyd was murdered by disgraced Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin, and three others, as part of an arrest procedure led to the decision, which now has left fans "disgusted" with many of them taking to Twitter to slam the network.

“Out of respect for the families of George Floyd and others who have lost their lives, in consultation with the departments we follow, and in consideration for the safety of all involved, we have made the decision not to broadcast Live PD this weekend,” A&E announced in a statement, as they went on to air repeat episodes of 'Live Rescue' instead. The network isn't the only one, as Paramount Network has also shelved its police series 'Cops'. The series didn't air on its usual Monday slot, with no plans of the show returning with newer episodes any time sooner, as reported by Deadline. But it is A&E show's hiatus that has seemingly ruffled more than just a few feathers.

All hell broke loose when 'Live PD' host Dan Abrams tweeted about the hiatus, writing: "Sorry to say that there will be no #LivePd this weekend. The decision was made in conjunction with the departments we follow." Soon a slew of hate messages appeared under his tweets in the comments section. "I'm actually disgusted they pulled #livepd off the air tonight.. that should be offensive to every american.. good night" wrote a severely disgruntled fan on Twitter. Another similarly displeased fan of the show expressed their hurt sentiments, opinion: "By not airing #LivePD you are showing where you stand @AETV Are you going to stop airing The First 48 also? You wouldn’t want to offend the criminals in which some happen to be black. #sellout"

Another angry fan tweeted, "This is such a misguided decision. The pandering here is sickening. We look forward to #LivePD return." Trying to rationalize the situation and their grievances, a fan shared: "Isn’t apologizing, effectively admitting guilt when questioned by law enforcement? That’s what #LivePD did tonight and will be doing tomorrow night if they don’t go #LivePD. We aren’t a racist country."

'Live PD' usually aired on Mondays at 9 pm only on A&E.
