Jenny Slatten was happy to hear that Sumit Singh stood up for her in front of his parents. However, their worries are far from over. Even though Sumit managed to let them know that he is going to marry Jenny, one thing that was stopping him was his ex-wife. In the previous season, viewers found out that Sumit was still married.

While he has managed to file for a divorce, it has not been finalized yet. Jenny hinted she was looking forward to getting engaged to Sumit. However, he made it clear that he would like to do that in front of everyone, as they do in his culture, to proudly announce that he is with her. Since he was not legally divorced, Sumit thought it won't be right to put a ring on it. To make things worse, he found out that his ex-wife had put false allegations against him. Since Sumit left his wife for Jenny, she reportedly filed mental and physical torture allegations against him. At the same time, she was asking for $500 a month. Jenny grew concerned as they did not have that much of money.

Jenny revealed Sumit had paid his ex-wife $20,000 when they initially started the divorce process. Seeing how she has asked for more, Jenny wondered what's next to come. Sumit tried to assure her things would be fine as he had a court hearing. Even though he was trying to calm down Jenny, he admitted to the camera that he was worried about what the court hearing would be like. Luckily, the court rules in his favor. They announced for the charges to be dropped and made it clear that Sumit will not have to pay any more money to his ex-wife. While these charges were dropped, he still has to wait for the divorce to be finalized. This makes Jenny wonder how long will she have to wait to finally get engaged. Even though she is sure it will happen, she hints that it has been a long time and it would be good to finally see their relationship go somewhere.

'90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way' airs on Sundays at 8 pm ET on TLC.
