77th Golden Globe Awards: Airdate, host, nominations, where to watch and everything you need to know about the honorary award ceremony
The coming 2020 marks the 77th Golden Globe Awards and as of now, the voting is officially underway as our favorite movie stars battle it out to emerge victorious on the final day.
The ceremony will honor the best film and American television of 2019, as chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The ceremony will be held in Los Angeles and it is definitely going to be a star-studded affair. The deadline for receiving the final ballots is Monday, December 30, 2019.

Airdate
The presentation of the award ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 5, 2020.
Host
Ricky Gervais will host the ceremony. He is back for a fifth round of ripping celebrity egos apart while sipping beer on stage. So, get ready to watch the drama unfurl because it is going to super exciting!
Nominations
The year 2019 has been epic so far as the entertainment industry has given us some great flicks. As for the award contenders, Netflix's 'Marriage Story' leads the board with six nominations, followed by Netflix's 'The Irishman' and Quentin Tarantino's 'Once Upon A Time in Hollywood' received five nominations each.
Joaquin Phoenix 's starrer 'Joker' has four nominations including one for best picture and Netflix's 'The Two Popes' has four nominations.
Coming to American television shows, HBO's 'Chernobyl', Netflix's 'The Crown' and 'Unbelievable' top the charts with four nominations each. Apple Tv+ 'The Morning Show', HBO's 'Big Little Lies' and BBC One's 'Fleabag' have received three nominations each.
Special Awards
Cecil B. DeMille Award
It is an honorary award presented for outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment. It is awarded to honorees who have made a significant mark in the film industry and Tom Hanks will be the recipient of this award in 2020.
Carol Burnett Award
The Carol Burnett Award is an honorary award given for outstanding and lasting contributions to television on or off the screen and Ellen DeGeneres will be the recipient of this award in 2020 for her outstanding work in both reel and real life.
