Kennedy Center Honors 2019: Music lovers say Trisha Yearwood a better singer than Carrie Underwood when it comes to Linda Ronstadt songs

Mesmerized by their performances and deeply touched by the tribute to Linda Ronstadt, fans took to Twitter to talk about their spellbinding voice

Country music stars Carrie Underwood, Trisha Yearwood & Garth Brooks attended the 2019 Kennedy Center Honors at The Kennedy Center and the singers paid a tribute to one of the biggest female rock stars, Linda Ronstadt. Mesmerized by their performances and deeply touched by the tribute to Linda, fans took to Twitter to talk about their spellbinding voice. 

While they seemed to love the songs sung in her honor, many music lovers went on to say how Trisha Yearwood was better on stage than Carrie Underwood. One Twitter user wrote, "Controversial statement of the day: Trisha Yearwood is a better singer than Carrie Underwood, at least singing Linda Ronstadt songs on the #KennedyCenterHonors."

"Trisha Yearwood and Aaron Nevell Nailed it! Love Carrie Underwood but Trisha was born to sing Linda Ronstadt! @trishayearwood," one tweet read and another said, "Yesss! Thank you @KCHonors for inviting us to honor #LindaRonstadt. Beautiful tributes and performances by @trishayearwood @carrieunderwood @aaronneville @EmmylouSongbird @KevinKlineActor #DonHenley So excited to be a part of this celebration!"

One fan wrote, "Amazing! And that Trisha Yearwood is why you are my favorite vocalist!"

Several others took Carrie Underwood's side. "Carrie Underwood rocked the show," one wrote and another posted, "@carrieunderwood performance was so beautiful!! Her voice is truly incredible such great tribute #KCHonors #LindaRonstadt."

Many fans, however, went on to say how both were equally wonderful on stage. "Carrie Underwood and Trisha Yearwood, both of you are just as great as Linda and one day will be honored as we. #kennedycenterhonors." Another fan posted, "I’m over here, bawling my eyes out watching these superstars singing the songs of Linda Ronstadt! #carrieunderwood #aaronneville #trishayearwood on #TheKennedyCenterHonors!" 

"#KCHonors love Linda Ronstadt! What a prolific career. Gotta shout out, WAY TO REPRESENT COUNTRY MUSIC! #TrishaYearwood & #CarrieUnderwood you nailed it girls, you brought the roof down!" another tweet read. 

The 42nd Kennedy Center Honors also recognized 'Sesame Street', actress Sally Field, musician Michael Tilson Thomas and the band Earth Wind & Fire.
