The owner of a Texas company that sells plans to make untraceable 3D printed guns has reportedly been arrested in Texas on a sexual assault charge. The arrest was made after Taiwanese officials sent 30-year-old Cody Wilson back to the United States, where he is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with an underage girl, according to reports.

Wilson, who has been booked into a Houston jail, reportedly flew to Taiwan after he learned that he was under investigation. US authorities alerted Taiwanese officials about Wilson, who was then picked up on Friday after his US passport was annulled. He was then deported to the US on Saturday, according to HuffPost.

Wilson's lawyer, Samy Khalil, released a statement on Sunday, saying: "We are glad that Cody is back in Texas again where we can work with him on his case. That’s our focus right now, representing our client and preparing his defense."

Wilson, the founder of Defense Distributed, became a significant figure in the debate over guns in the country after his company released blueprints for plastic guns which can be made with a 3D printer online. A federal judge recently issued a countrywide injunction which blocked the blueprints from being posted on the internet. Reports state that the files could previously be downloaded for free.

An affidavit filed by an Austin police detective in Travis county district court on Wednesday stated that Wilson messaged an underage girl through a website called SugarDaddyMeet.com and had sex with her in a hotel in Austin, Texas on August 15 and gave her $500 for it. Reports state that Wilson flew to Taiwan after a friend of the 16-year-old girl alerted him that police were investigating the accusation of him having sex with the girl.

Commander Troy Officer of Austin police department's organized crime division, during a press conference, on Wednesday said that Wilson has been charged with a second-degree felony which is punishable by two to 20 years in prison. Wilson is reportedly at Harris county jail in Houston and is being held on $150,000 bond.
