"F***ing scumbag," Alesha MacPhail's father shouts at 16-year-old boy found guilty in rape and murder of 6-year-old
The 16-year-old boy accused in the abduction, rape, and murder of Alesha MacPhail on the Isle of Bute last July has now been found guilty of the crimes.
After four hours of deliberation on Thursday afternoon following a two-week trial, a jury at Glasgow High Court finally reached a unanimous verdict, The Guardian reports.
It was reported that Alesha's father, Robert MacPhail, shouted "f***ing scumbag" at the killer as he was led to the cells in handcuffs.
The accused, who cannot be named for legal reasons, reportedly took Alesha from her bed in the family's seafront apartment, used a knife to silence her, and carried her to the grounds of an empty hotel before raping and smothering the child, the jury heard.
