13-year-old girl found dead was forced to wash all dishes and banned from celebrating her birthday, inquest hears
Amber Peat was allegedly banned from celebrating her birthday due to bad behavior and also made to do a lot of chores.
A 13-year-old British girl who had run away from home in 2015 before being discovered hanged in a hedgerow was made to "wash every pot in the house" and was also told that she could not celebrate her birthday due to bad behavior.
An inquest heard how Amber Peat who had run away from her Nottingham home, was ordered to clean out a cool box post returning from a family vacation to Cornwall.
The inquest had previously heard that Amber's parents — her mother Kelly and stepfather Daniel Peat —did not report her missing for nearly 8 hours and claims from teachers saying that she "didn't get as much attention at home as would be considered normal."
