Did NCT Dream plagiarize BTS? #nctdisband trends over 'Life is still going on'

NCT Dream will be releasing a repackaged album 'Hello Future' with three new tracks including 'Hello Future' (title track), 'Life is Still Going On', and 'Bungee'.

NCT Dream is accused of plagiarism for their new song 'Life is Still Going On' which will be a part of their new repackaged album 'Hello Future'. As the song title matches BTS' last year's 'BE' title track 'Life Goes On', fans of the Grammy-nominated music group have accused the SM Entertainment K-pop act of 'copying' the song title.

NCT Dream, the sub-unit of NCT will be releasing a repackaged album 'Hello Future' with three new tracks including 'Hello Future' (title track), 'Life is Still Going On', and 'Bungee'. The album containing thirteen tracks in total will be released on June 28.

Did NCT Dream plagiarize BTS?

While taking inspiration for song names and using the same track name is pretty common for the music industry, similarity between the two tracks have struck a new debate online between BTS ARMY and NCTzens. A user said, "Life is still going on ?? where was this name Came from I forgot.. oh Wait a minute is it bts life goes on ... they copy the Title.... as they should." Another fan opined, "what the “life is still going on” trend is NOT about BTS?? damn someone really said ctrl c + ctrl v!"

The Korean name of the song is 'music box'

Internet was divided on the song title where many BTS fans, as well as NCT fans, felt the song title may not matter if the tracks are essentially different. NCT Dream and BTS have very distinguished styles where the former often goes for modern grunge, EDM-based tracks, and BTS have been reshaping and remolding their music through every comeback as their music encompasses Hip-hop, Disco-pop, ballad and more. A fan pointed out, "The Korean name for this song is Music Box and life is still going on is just the translation. NCT and BTS are really good friends so please don't disappoint them like this. Anyways stream hot sauce and butter!" Another fan stated, "Some people saying nct dreams new song life is still going on is the same with bts life goes on.. like i mean many songs have same titles... It is a bside anyway..."

'NCT Disband'

The song title enraged some fans who also started trending 'NCT Disband' in Twitter while others called the trend 'toxic' and defended the band. A fan wrote, "No! This is so toxic.. Over a song title?! Y'all are so childish! Just focus on streaming your faves & stop fighting. #nctdisband!" Another user urged fans saying, "Army please stop this, this embarrassing. The song title is not the same, there're multiple artists with the song title,and there's nothing wrong with that. The song hasn't been release and yall are quick to cancel. This is NOT what we represent." and added, "As an army I would like to deeply apologize to NCTzen , I don't like when some create this type of toxic behaviors. I deeply apologize again. This is just full on embarrassing. Yall ARMY we are better than this. We should be focusing on str3@ming."
