‘The Voice’ Season 19: Kelly Clarkson picks Sid as John Legend opts for Bailey, fans give 'shoutout to both'
‘The Voice’ Season 19 contestants from John Legend’s team namely, Bailey Rae and Sid Kingsley, were the next one to hit the stage in the premiere episode of the battle round. Both of them covered Chris Stapleton’s hit single ‘Tennessee Whiskey’ in order to completely mesmerise the judges. Both the singers were immensely praised during the blind auditions and the battle round was no different.
Sid is considered as one of the top contenders of the singing reality show from day one, but as luck had it, John Legend picked the 18-year-old Bailey over him which came as a shocker to Kelly Clarkson. We, all remember how Kelly called herself an idiot when she did not turn around for Sid in the blind auditions. Rectifying her mistake, she immediately pressed the red buzzer to steal the talented crooner for her team.
The Internet also erupted with joy after Sid got saved by Kelly and even praised Bailey for her skills. One user said, “Lord have mercy...when Sid Kingsley sings, you can feel his tone deep down in your soul. I'm baffled as to why John would let him go! That will easily go down as the biggest steal of the season by Kelly.” One user tweeted, “Bailey Rae vs Sid Kingsley. I Love this song too, Kelly. Glad Bailey got off the low notes quickly, they didn't really resonate but that upper. Whew!! Sid has amazing attack. He also has that Jed appeal. Wow! Sang, man. #TheVoice #VoiceBattles” Another added, “I couldn't have picked! They both gave me chills! Congratulations to both for going on!! #Floored #TeamSidAndBailey #WOW” One stated, “Great song & an even greater battle! Shoutout to both artists! Loved it!”
